Terms of Use
The agreement between you and PersonaFi when you use PersonaFi.
Last updated 11 October 2026
The most important part: PersonaFi is a modelling tool, not financial advice. Forecasts, comparisons and your coach's answers are estimates from your own numbers. Your decisions are yours.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use (Terms) apply to your use of the PersonaFi website at personafi.com.au, the PersonaFi web app and any related services (together, the Service).
The Service is provided by G.P Filopoulos & P Filopoulos, a family partnership trading as PersonaFi (ABN 15 592 438 277) (PersonaFi, we, us, our).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. PersonaFi is a modelling tool, not financial advice
PersonaFi helps you understand your spending, forecast where your money is heading and model "what if" scenarios. It is an information and modelling tool only.
- No financial advice. PersonaFi does not provide financial product advice, credit assistance, tax advice or legal advice. We do not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence or an Australian Credit Licence.
- General information only. Forecasts, benchmarks, suggestions and AI coach responses are general in nature. They do not take into account your full objectives, financial situation or needs.
- Estimates, not guarantees. Forecasts are based on your past data, assumptions and statistical benchmarks (such as ABS household expenditure data). Actual results will differ, sometimes significantly.
- Your decisions are yours. You are responsible for decisions you make using the Service. Before making financial decisions, especially about investments, superannuation, loans, insurance or tax, consider getting advice from a licensed professional.
- Comparisons are averages. "Households like yours" figures are statistical averages for similar Australian households. They are a reference point, not a recommendation about what you should earn, spend or own.
- AI coach personas are characters. The coaches (for example, "Uncle Stavros" or "Nonno") are fictional personas designed to make the Service engaging. They are not real people or qualified advisers.
3. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and an Australian resident to use the Service.
- You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
- Your account is for your personal use only. Do not share your login or let anyone else use your account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. Tell us promptly at support@personafi.com.au if you think your account has been accessed without your permission.
- You may only connect or upload financial data that belongs to you, or that you are authorised to share.
4. Beta access
During our beta period, access to the Service is by invitation only.
- Invite codes are single-use and personal to you. Do not share or sell them.
- Beta features are still being developed. They may change, be removed, contain errors or be unavailable at times.
- We may ask for your feedback. If you give it, we may use it to improve the Service without any obligation to you.
- We may end the beta, or your beta access, at any time. Where practical, we will give you notice and a way to export your data.
5. Subscriptions, fees and cancellation
The Service is free during the beta. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you before you are charged anything, and these terms will apply:
- Fees. Paid plans cost the price shown when you sign up for a paid plan.
- Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. We charge the payment method you provide through our payment provider.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then.
- Refunds. Except where required by law (including under the Australian Consumer Law), we do not refund partial billing periods.
- Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of a price change before it applies to you. If you do not agree, you can cancel before it takes effect.
- Usage limits. Plans may include fair-use limits on AI features (for example, a monthly number of AI coach messages). Limits for your plan are shown in the app.
6. Connecting your bank data and uploading files
Bank connections. Connecting your bank directly isn't available during the beta. If we offer it, you will be asked for a separate, specific consent before any bank data is collected, and we will update these Terms.
File uploads. You can also upload transaction files (for example, CSV exports from your bank). You must only upload files you are entitled to share.
Accuracy. We rely on the data your bank or files provide. We are not responsible for errors, delays or gaps in that data, or for categorisations that do not match how you see your spending. You can recategorise transactions in the app.
7. AI features and third-party AI providers
PersonaFi uses artificial intelligence to generate insights and power the AI coaches.
- What we send. To generate a response, we send our AI provider, OpenAI, L.L.C., the information needed to answer you. Depending on the feature, this can include:
- the coach you chose (not your name: we swap your first name for a stand-in name before anything is sent, and put it back in the reply)
- spending, income and forecast figures by category, along with your savings, goals and net worth
- figures you have entered, such as your age, your salary, a partner's salary, and loan balances and interest rates
- the names of loans, assets and linked accounts (for example, your bank's name and the account's name)
- the questions you type to the coach and your recent messages in that chat
- if you ask the coach about particular transactions, the matching transactions: date, amount, category and the first part of the bank's description
- What we don't send. We do not send your name, email address, date of birth, bank login details, account numbers or BSBs, or your full transaction history. A name can still be sent if it's part of a transaction description or something you type.
- Overseas processing. Our AI provider may process this information outside Australia, including in the United States. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.
- No storage or training by the AI provider. We ask our AI provider not to store requests, and under its terms, information we send through its API is [not used to train its models]. It may keep information for a limited time for security and abuse monitoring.
- Chats we keep. We keep your questions to the coach and its answers for 90 days so we can check and improve them, then delete them automatically.
- What you type. Anything you type into the chat goes to the AI provider. Avoid entering details you do not want shared, such as full names, addresses or account numbers.
- AI can be wrong. AI responses can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important before acting on it.
8. Privacy and data security
We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy. It explains what we collect, why, where it is stored, who we share it with and how you can access, correct or delete it.
- Your data is stored on Google Cloud servers located in the United States.
- We use reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time by contacting privacy@personafi.com.au or through Settings › Delete my account.
- You can download a copy of your data at any time in Settings › Download my data.
- If we end the beta or stop offering the Service, we will tell you beforehand where practical and give you time to download your data before it is deleted.
9. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading
- connect or upload data that is not yours or that you are not authorised to share
- try to access other users' accounts or data, or our systems, without permission
- interfere with, overload or disrupt the Service, or bypass usage limits or security measures
- copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell the Service, or use it to build a competing product
- use the AI features to generate harmful, abusive or illegal content
10. Intellectual property
We own (or license) the Service, including its software, design, branding, AI coach personas and content. You may use the Service only as these Terms allow.
ABS data. Comparisons with similar households use data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), used under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. PersonaFi adjusts these figures (for example, bringing them forward for inflation), and the ABS has not reviewed or endorsed PersonaFi.
You keep ownership of your data. You give us a licence to use it only to provide, maintain and improve the Service for you, in line with our Privacy Policy and any consent you give.
11. Australian Consumer Law and our liability
Your consumer rights. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.
Limits on our liability. To the extent permitted by law:
- the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", and we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that forecasts will be accurate
- we are not liable for any loss arising from financial decisions you make using the Service, including decisions based on forecasts, benchmarks, suggestions or AI coach responses
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, savings, opportunity or data
- where our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee can be limited, it is limited to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again
- otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose
Third-party services. The Service relies on third parties, including our bank data provider, AI provider, hosting provider and payment provider. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for their acts, omissions or outages.
12. Suspension and closing your account
- You can close your account at any time in Settings or by contacting us.
- We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the issue.
- When your account closes, we delete or de-identify your data as described in our Privacy Policy, unless the law requires us to keep it.
13. Changes, complaints and governing law
Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you can close your account.
Complaints. If you have a complaint, contact us at support@personafi.com.au. We aim to acknowledge it within 2 business days and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You and we submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
General. These Terms and our Privacy Policy together make up the agreement between you and us about the Service. If they ever conflict on how we handle personal information, the Privacy Policy applies. If any part of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not waived it.
14. Availability and support
- We aim to keep the Service running, but we don't promise it will always be available, particularly during the beta. We may need to take it offline for maintenance or updates, and we will try to do this at quiet times.
- For help, email support@personafi.com.au.
15. How we contact you
- We send notices about your account and these Terms to the email address on your account, or show them in the app. Keep your email address up to date.
- You agree to receive these notices electronically. Alerts you turn on, such as low cash alerts, can be turned off in Settings.
16. Transferring these Terms
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to a related entity or to a business that takes over the Service (for example, a company set up to run PersonaFi). We will tell you if we do. A transfer won't reduce your rights under these Terms or the law. You may not transfer your account or these Terms to anyone else.
17. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for a failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages at our providers, internet failures, natural disasters or government action. We will try to keep any disruption short.
18. Resolving disputes
If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at support@personafi.com.au so we can try to sort it out. This doesn't stop you from contacting a regulator or exercising your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
